Typically, you want to get your medical records before you contact an attorney, and you need to, usually, have a doctor review the records to determine if there’s been malpractice, but if the question is—If someone did an improper surgical procedure on you that results in your damages, most likely in a permanent nature, you can, under Illinois Law, sue for medical malpractice.
